Hispanic and non-Hispanic populations tend to have very different age structures. Typically, Hispanic populations in the U.S. are younger than their non-Hispanic counterparts. In general, younger populations grow faster.

In Idaho in 2017. . .

  • those under age 20 made up 42 percent of the total Hispanic population compared to 27 percent of the total non-Hispanic population;

  • those aged 20-64 made up 54 percent of the total Hispanic population compared to 56 percent of the total non-Hispanic population;

  • those aged 65 and over made up 5 percent of the total Hispanic population compared to 17 percent of the total non-Hispanic population.
