The self-employment rate is the percent of all employed people who have their own businesses (“proprietors”) as opposed to working for someone else in return for wages or salary.

In 2021, the self-employment rate in Bonneville. . .

  • was 24.8 percent, compared to 24.9 percent in 2010, 19.2 percent in 2000, 19.5 percent in 1990, and 16.6 percent in 1980;

  • was 24.8 percent, compared to 26.1 in Idaho;
  • ranked 34th – from highest to lowest – out of Idaho's 44 counties.

·         “Employment: Unemployment rate” – Are self-employment rates increasing as unemployment rates increase (e.g. are people starting their own businesses when other jobs are not available)?
